Brian H. Willson, DDS, PA Exceptional Dentistry

Dental implants are a more permanent solution to missing teeth than dentures or bridges. Through implant dentistry Dr. Willson can complete a smile that is missing a tooth or two. Dr. Willson is able to do this by replacing the tooth roots with a dental implant that will fuse with the jaw's natural bone. This process preserves the mouth's natural structure and allows the implant to become a stable part of the jaw.

Implant dentistry is often used during a smile makeover. Gaps from missing teeth are often too large to correct with porcelain veneers or dental bonding, so Dr. Willson combines the cosmetic procedures with the restorative dentistry procedure of dental implants to meet each patient’s unique needs.

The implant dentistry must be completed prior to the placement of the porcelain dental veneers or other cosmetic procedures. Dr. Willson secures the dental implant to the jaw and secures it with a temporary dental crown. To complete the implant dentistry procedure, a second visit to our office is required once the gum line heals around the implant. During this visit, a "final" dental crown is placed over the implant. Depending on the number of teeth missing, a bridge may be used to close the gap.

To complete a smile makeover, Dr. Willson may place porcelain veneers on the surrounding teeth. Since the dental crown and the veneers can all be made from porcelain, Dr. Willson will be able to blend the cosmetic and implant dentistry results for a natural flowing smile. He can also use dental bonding techniques to improve the final result of your implant dentistry procedure.
